Artist development: From discovery to release
Friday 16:00 - 17:00
Ina Jedlicka (Columbia/Sony, Germany)
Pip Newby (Play it again Sam)
Jordan Withmore (Atlantic UK)
Moderated by: Ed Poston
How does an A&R work?
There is a lot more to being an A&R than discovering and singing an act to a record deal. An A&R will oversee the creative process in various involvement stages throughout, depending on what type of artist they are working with.
Artists and repertoire is the division of a record label or music publishing company that is responsible for talent scouting and overseeing the artistic development of recording artists and songwriters
In this panel we are going to follow the development of artists from a rough cut of a song, with the responsible A&R describing what actions they took to develop the song to a finished, release ready product.
In this panel we have A&R's from Atlantic UK, Columbia/Sony, Germany and Play it again Sam (PIAS). The panel will be moderated by Ed Poston.
