Hundzig
Et tydelig nytt standpunkt til norsk rock!
Hundzig er et nyoppstartet soloprosjekt fra låtskriver August Alver Solli med fast band. Prosjektet har som visjon å ta et tydelig nytt standpunkt i norsk rock, og tråkke nye veier for sjangeren med stor meloditeft og egenartet låtskrivning. Musikken befinner seg i et krysningspunkt mellom folk, punk og dreampop, og akkompagnert av intime vokaler følger skranglende gitarer, deilige synther og varm bass. Tekstene er modne og gir vokalen, som ofte er plassert i sentrum av lydbilde, ekstra punch. Fra lydbilde er det lett å trekke tråder til artister som New Order, Beach House og Wilco. Hundzig er rått og behagelig på en og samme tid.
Prosjektet er et resultat av mange år med låtskriving som hobby. For rundt et år siden ble det bestemt å gjøre hobbyen til noe mer etter flust av gode tilbakemeldinger, og nå ser prosjektet frem mot albumslipp i høst.
19. februar slapp Hundzig EP (Hundzig - Hundzig) på 4 låter. EP-en har vakt stor oppmerksomhet, med oversødige positive anmeldelser fra blant annet Gaffa.no, Hookmagasin.no , P3 urørt, Radio Nova og studentradioen i Volda. 2/4 låter er i rotasjonen til P3 urørt / musikk (Walk Straight og Neighbourhood), der prosjektet har blitt løftet frem med store forventninger for nytt materiale. I vår slippes en eller to singler, enda en slippes i sommer, og i høst slippes debutalbumet.

Hundzig is a newly established solo project by songwriter August Alver Solli, performing with a fixed band. The project aims to take a clear new stance within Norwegian rock, forging new paths for the genre through strong melodic instincts and distinctive songwriting. The music sits at the intersection of folk, punk, and dream pop, where intimate vocals are accompanied by jangly guitars, lush synths, and warm bass. The lyrics are mature and give the vocals—often placed front and center in the soundscape—an extra punch. Sonically, it’s easy to draw connections to artists like New Order, Beach House, and Wilco. Hundzig is raw and comforting at the same time.
The project is the result of many years of songwriting as a hobby. About a year ago, it was decided to take things further following an abundance of positive feedback, and now the project is gearing up for an album release this autumn.
On February 19, Hundzig released a four-track EP (“Hundzig – Hundzig”). The EP has attracted significant attention, receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews from outlets such as Gaffa.no, Hookmagasin.no, P3 Urørt, Radio Nova, and the student radio in Volda. Two of the four tracks (“Walk Straight” and “Neighbourhood”) have been added to rotation on P3 Urørt, where the project has been highlighted with high expectations for upcoming releases. This spring, one or two singles will be released, followed by another in the summer, and the debut album in the autumn.
